GTIN Recorder, developed by Skyview Smart Solutions, respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, process, and protect personal data in compliance with applicable laws, including GDPR and CCPA.

1. Data Collection

• User login credentials and authentication data: email/username, hashed credentials processed by our API, session/cookie identifiers, authentication tokens, IP address, device and browser metadata.
• Product information via barcode scanning: GTIN/barcode, product name and code, lot/batch numbers, unit of measure (UOM), and related product attributes you submit.
• User confirmation actions and timestamps: actions such as save/confirm/approve, along with the user ID, role, and time of action.
• Role-based access data: role assignments (e.g., admin or user) and permissions used to control data visibility and actions.

2. Data Usage

• Purpose: authenticate users, record and manage GTIN/product data, support inventory/product workflows, and provide auditability.
• Storage: scanned product entries are stored in our database with references to the creating user, role, and timestamps.
• Role-specific access: admins can view and manage all products; regular users can view and manage products they created or have been granted access to.
• Export/Import: admins may export product/article data and import reference data (including UOM) to streamline operations.
• UOM management: UOM codes and mappings are maintained and may be synchronized/imported from integrated systems; these are used to standardize product measurements.

3. Data Protection

• Authentication security: cookie-based authentication with session controls, anti-forgery protections, and secure login flows.
• Encryption: data in transit is protected with TLS/HTTPS; data at rest is protected using strong encryption controls where applicable (e.g., AES-256) and restricted database access.
• Access controls: role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles restrict who can view or act on data; administrative functions are limited to authorized roles.
• Retention: personal and product data is retained while the account is active and for as long as necessary to provide services and meet legal obligations; backups follow secure retention schedules.

4. User Rights

• Access: you may request a copy of your personal data and product entries associated with your account.
• Deletion: you may request deletion of personal data, subject to legal and operational requirements.
• Update: you may update account information (e.g., username, email) through the application or by contacting support.
• GDPR: where applicable, you may exercise rights to rectification, portability, restriction, and objection.
• CCPA: California residents may request disclosure of categories of data collected and may exercise the right to delete; we do not sell personal data.
